2006 Annual New Market Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet
On March 17, 2006 we held our Annual Banquet and Silent Auction. Businesses and Individuals were recognized for their efforts. Business of the Year was awarded to Faye's Flowers, Gifts & Antiques, Civic Organization of the Year went to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Leo Howell was recognized as Citizen of the Year. Our Silent Auction was one of the best to date proving just how generous our members and friends are! Such a variety of donated items had those in attendance competing to take the treasures home!
Heroes Parade, September 11, 2005
Another way to honor those that serve to make this community, country and world a better place to live! Recognizing heroes of the past, present and future.

11th Annual Heritage Days Fall Festival
Our 11th annual Heritage Days Fall Festival took place October 22nd and 23rd, 2005.
This is an outdoor festival featuring juried craft items throughout the town.
With food, crafts, live entertainment and demonstrations all weekend, New Market is the place to be for this exciting fall event!
Our First Ever ... "An 1860's Christmas in New Market"
This was an exciting time in New Market! Many locals appeared in period dress for the occassion. The weekend kicked off with a traditional Lutheran worship service at the historic Emmanual Lutheran Church. Rev. Derek Ritenour portrayed the Rev. Dr. Socrates Henkel with amazing results! Following the service there was carroling through the streets with Troy Marshall (Supervisor of Historical Interpretation, New Market Battlefield State Historical Park) giving a wonderful history lesson in regards to the town. There was an old time parade, an 1860's Santa, Belsnicklers, Civil War encampment and much more! The biggest question following this even, "Will you do this again?" Answer, YES! Check back for the scheduling for 2006!
